YOUNI-T (Pronounced UNITY) "The Ivory Queen of Soca" is the first and only All-American and Caucasian female to solidify herself as a force to be reckoned with in the Soca Music game. Using Soca as the foundation of her sound, she adds sprinkles of American mainstream genres to create her own unique flavor she calls “SOCAMERICA. “
YOUNI-T has Performed live and promoted her Soca music in Trinidad during Carnival "season" every year since 2013! In 2023, she hit new heights and created a “next level buzz” when her live interview on “King Ojo World “ (96.1 WE FM) went viral amongst Soca lovers everywhere, after an unexpected live vocal challenge kicked off in the middle of her segment with hosts Ezel and Sekon Sta.
To add to the excitement, she BLAZED the stages of Fire Fest, Soca Love Story, Mojito Soca, Chip and Dip Jouvert launch, the Carnival Cabaret, and the Carnival “Pavement Limes” hosted by the top radio stations in the country.
You can also find YOUNI-T in the mix and on the Carnival scene in the USA, performing in Miami, New York, Orlando, Tampa, San Diego, Key West, and South Carolina, sharing stages with some of the biggest names in the biz like Kes The Band, Patrice Roberts, Nailah Blackman, Skinny Fabulous, Lyrikal, Nadia Batson, Destra, Alison Hinds, Super Blue, Iwer George, Ricardo Drue, Mr. Killa, Farmer Nappy, Rupee, Kevin Lyttle, and Nessa Preppy, just to name a few!
YOUNI-T continues to proudly "fly the flag" as an “Ambassador of Soca Music and Carnival Culture for Trinidad and Tobago.” In 2019, she was nominated "Florida Soca Artist of the Year" by the International Soca Awards Committee in Miami, FL."
Her ultimate goal is to help establish Soca as a mainstream musical genre and spread the upbeat, “one love” culture across the globe. The only thing stronger than her laser sharp focus, raw tenacity, and iron will, are her “diamond pipes”, which she plans to use to shatter the glass ceiling of Soca and introduce it to every corner of the world.
